Weather in Bath

The British weather is renowned throughout the world for being very interchangeable & unpredictable, rain is quite frequent so it's a good idea to carry an umbrella or coat with you when you are out & about.

Bath has a temperate climate, albeit warmer than some other locations on a similar latitude due to the warming influence of the Gulf Stream. Bath is on average drier and warmer than more northerly parts of the United Kingdom, and experiences south-westerly prevailing winds from the North Atlantic current.  

Situated in the south of the country, Bath has a mean annual temperature of 10.3°C (50.5°F). It is also amongst the sunniest, with up to 1645 hours sunshine per year.

March to May may be a little wet and windy, but the weather is mostly pleasant and mild. Tourists begin coming to the area to visit the parks and gardens as they begin to flowers begin to bloom. From May to September, the days progress from cool mornings to warm days.

 

In winter (December to February) snow is rare , but cold, damp, frost and ice are not. The sun comes out some of the time, but visitors are advised to bring warm coats, gloves, hats and waterproof shoes for wearing when out and about.
