Valencia Airport is located to the west of Valencia, in the
municipalities of Manises and Quart de Poblet. National
road N-220, which connects with the A-3 and the N-335,
leads to the airport.
Valencia airport is situated on the A3 highway which
connects Valencia with Madrid, as well as being close to the
A7, to Barcelona and into France. It is also well served by
public transport. It is connected to Valencia by a regular bus
line (MetroBus) which takes 45 minutes, while the shuttle
service (Aerobus) to the city centre takes only 20 minutes. The
metro network (lines 3 and 5) also connect the airport to the
city centre (15 minutes), the Railway Station and the Port.
Valencia Airport (VLC) is 9 km from the city centre. The bus
to Túria station departs every 30 minutes and takes about 30-40
minutes. The subway goes directly to the town centre and links
the Airport to the main train station, Estación del Norte
(beside Xàtiva metro stop), running every 8 minutes and taking
about 20 minutes.
There are now twelve UK Airports that offer regular,
scheduled flights to Valencia from five different Airlines:
Iberia, Easyjet, Jet2, Thomsonfly, Clickair and
Ryanair.
Public Transport
Road: Taxi: Taxis can
be picked up in the area just opposite the arrivals hall.
Companies serving the airport include Radio Taxi Manises (tel: 961 521 155),
Radio Taxi Valencia (tel: 963
703 333) and Telephone
Teletaxi (tel: 963 571 313). There are always
taxis waiting at the rank and the fare into the city centre
should be around €15 .
Shuttle: The Aero-Bus runs
directly between the airport and the city centre every 20
minutes.
The Valencia airport buses run every 20 minutes from
06:00 until 22:00. The trip into the centre of the City
takes around 15 minutes and costs €2.50.
Bus: Local bus 150, operated by the metropolitan
transport authorities (tel: 963 160 707
or 961 500 082), runs
between the airport and the central bus station from
0525-2355. It is not as frequent as the Aero-Bus, and
it is not a direct service, but it is cheaper than the
shuttle.
Metro: There are Valencia metro trains which
are two underground lines which link the airport, the city
centre and the port: the line 3 (Rafelbunyol-Aeroport) and the
line 5 (Marítim Serrería - Torrent Av. / Aeroport). The station
is at the ground floor of the regional flights terminal.
